Nancy Doshi is a distinguished legal professional with a rich blend of academic rigor and practical experience in banking, financial laws, and transactional practices. Nancy’s legal journey commenced at Pune University in India, where she was awarded a Law degree, followed by an honors degree in Political Science.

To elevate her expertise, she pursued an LL.M. in Banking and Financial Laws from Boston University School of Law, focusing on Financial Services Transactions and Compliance Management. Her academic repertoire includes an extensive study of US Banking regulations, Securities Laws, Corporate Laws, Project Finance, Commercial Lending, Consumer Financial Services, Bankruptcy Laws, Mergers and Acquisitions, Hedge Funds, and compliance laws related to the banking and securities markets.

Nancy’s scholarly pursuits led to two insightful Master’s Theses, which provided her with a deep dive into regulatory frameworks and their global impact. Her first thesis, “Impact of Volcker Rule on FBO: A Comparative Analysis of Extraterritoriality in Structural Bank Regulation Initiatives from EU and UK” offered a nuanced perspective on cross-border regulatory comparative analysis. The second thesis, “Initiative in Evaluating Asset Management Industry for SIFI Designation – An Effort Towards Improving Financial Stability?” allowed her to critically examine the risks inherent in the business models of banks and asset managers.

Currently enhancing her practical knowledge, Nancy is enrolled in a skill-building CLE course on M&A, Institutional Finance, and Investment Laws (PE and VC Transactions) through LawSikho. This course is instrumental in refining her grasp of restructuring transactions and developing skills in M&A structures, definitive agreements, due diligence, investor exits, acquisitions, buyouts, FDI (Foreign Direct Investments) and Cross border transactions.

Before her master’s, Nancy served as an associate attorney at Aglawe Advocates, adeptly managing numerous lawsuits involving real estate disputes and drafting of various commercial agreements. This role sharpened her ability to swiftly comprehend and cater to client needs, establishing her as a reliable, organized, and resilient professional.

An entrepreneurial spirit with a business-minded approach, Nancy thrives on challenges. Her extensive academic training in banking and finance law has not only familiarized her with the dynamic landscape of banking regulations, financial products, and services but has also primed her to continually stretch her capabilities.
