Fahid Rafique Verya, is a Barrister and Accredited International Mediator –SoM 218-Strand London, who has been practicing law at different courts of Pakistan and at some foreign jurisdictions since the year 2009. He is the founder and C.E.O of Fahid Verya Law Group (Advocates & Legal Consultants) registered as FVLG Law Firm at SCCI, which has been providing efficient legal services to its clients since the year 2011 in Sialkot, Lahore and Islamabad. He graduated Law i.e. (L.L.B) from Punjab University Law College, University of Punjab, Lahore, in the year 2008. He was enrolled with the Punjab Bar Council in the year 2009 as an Advocate and subsequently was enrolled as an Advocate High Court in the year 2011. He was Called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2024 by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. He also earned a status of being an accredited International Mediator by the Society of Mediators (SoM) 218-Strand London in 2024.

During his apprenticeship, being energetic and passionate about the legal profession, he keenly observed the procedural system of the courts and started drafting the cases for his senior Mr. Ahsan Bhoon senior ASC (former President Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan, Member Pakistan Bar Council). Soon, he proved himself to plead the cases as well before the relevant courts of law through the legal assistance of his senior. He feels that this profession is made for him and he is made for this profession. His innate capabilities are naturally linked with the profession of advocacy. He feels so satisfied with all day dealing with legal matters and in protecting the rights of his clients. Shamas Nazir alias Shama v The State and others (Session Court Sialkot) [2016]
Represented 3 accused from Defendant side in a high profile murder case as the deceased belong to the family of then Federal Minster. Two of the accused were acquitted and one was sentenced to death.

Shamas Nazir v The State Appeal No.2989557.802-16 in M.R No.204-16 (LHC)
Honorable double bench of LHC was convinced with the arguments and acquitted accused Shamas and answered the MR in negative. Additionally, all other appeals filed by the prosecution side for enhancement of fine were dismissed by the worthy bench. MR was answered in negative and his client was acquitted of the alleged charges.

Hassan Ali alias Samoosa v The State (Session Court Sialkot) [2016]
Pleaded the case from defense; accused was sentenced to death. But in his appeal against conviction he got acquitted by the honorable Lahore High Court, Lahore.

Manzoor alias Mithu v The State (Session Court Sialkot) [2017]
Represented the 5 accused persons in a murder trial. All of the accused were acquitted of the murder charge.

Represented the prosecution. Honorable bench acquitted the accused of murder charge by giving him benefit of doubt.

Dacoity with Murder Trial pleaded from prosecution side. One of the Accused was sentenced to death and one was sentenced to life.

Azmat etc v The State (Session Court Daska) [2018]
With the allegations of dacoity with murder it was one of the high profile cases of Daska city. Represented the both accused persons. The court agreed with the arguments that the case was not of capital punishment and sentenced to life imprisonment to both the accused persons.

Pakistan Customs Litigations:

Furqan Butt v Model Customs Collectorate Sialkot. [2018]
On charges of smuggling of mobile phones and tablets pleaded the case from defense side before Collector Adjudication and got released tablets being non notified items.

M/s Haier Pakistan Pvt Ltd v Assistant Collector (AFU) AIIAP Lahore (Customs Appellate Tribunal, Lahore) [2019]
It was a case of alleged smuggling charges against the appellant company involving goods of very high value. The department was demanding the outright confiscation of the goods. The tribunal decided the case in appellant’s favor after lengthy arguments from both side. Tribunal also accepted the request for delay and detention certificate and ordered the department to get the demurrage (in millions) waived off from the respective bonded ware house.

M/s First American v DC (DTRE) MCC Sialkot (Customs Appellate Tribunal, Lahore) [2019]
The tribunal decided the appeal in appellant company and waived off all the penalties/fine by giving the benefit of relevant SRO.

Muhammad Hanif V Collector of Customs MCC Sialkot and others (Civil Court Sialkot) [2019]
Represented the respondent Collectorate and got the stay vacated.

Al-Rehman Trading Co. v ASO MCC (E&C) Lahore [2020]
Collector Adjudication held that the case so made by the department is not established as of smuggling and ordered the goods so detained by the department to be released on payment of duty and taxes

M/s White Land v DC (DTRE) MCC Sialkot (Customs Appellate Tribunal, Lahore) [2021]
The tribunal held that the appellant company did not violate any rule of DTRE i.e. the concessionary regime thereby waived of the entire recoverable amount as calculated by the department.

Insurance Disputes:

M. Iqbal v Pak-Qatar Takaful Limited [2016]
The respondent company agreed to pre-court settlement and settled the insurance dispute in sum of PKR 7.3 Million in favor of M. Iqbal.

M/s Stanza v Shaheen Insurance Company Limited [2018]
The respondent company agreed to pre-court settlement and settled the dispute in PKR 1 Million.

Parveen Akhtar v EFU Life Assurance Limited [2018]
The respondent company came on settlement during case proceedings before the Insurance Tribunal and paid the life insurance claim to the client.

Others:

Salman Arshad v Federal Board Civil Revision No.368/13 (Islamabad High Court) [2020]
It was a case of change of name spellings and the date of birth which was denied to the petitioner from two lower courts. Honorable high court accepted the CR and ordered the respective board to amend the name spellings and the date of birth of the petitioner. The court held that even the respective board rules do not allow the change in name and date of birth but in certain extra ordinary circumstances of the case the respective board is directed to change the name and date of birth of the petitioner.

Badar Azeez v JOP ICA 64458/20 (LHC)
The honorable bench allowed the intra court appeal and held that the single bench of this court cannot entertain the disputed question of facts in original jurisdiction of this court.

International Cricket Council ICC v Shaiman Anwar Butt and Mr. Naveed (Anti-Corruption Tribunal established under ICC) [2021]
Represented one of the respondents; a national player of Emirates Cricket Board before a three bench Tribunal consisting of the Honourable Michael J Beloff QC (Chairman), Michael Heron QC (member) and Imtiaz Ahmad, Bar- at-law (member).

Miss Momina v Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) (Disciplinary Committee of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) [2023]
Represented his client as a lead counsel before a three member Disciplinary Committee consisting of Mrs Kate Douglas (Chair), Mr Trevor Faulkner (Accountant) Mr Damian Kearney (Lay). The Honourable Committee restored the membership of his client with no costs.
